The Barthilas server is named for the former paladin and magistrate of Stratholme, Barthilas. Barthilas was purged by Arthas during the Culling of Stratholme, and can be seen in that instance as a human. In the Stratholme dungeon, he appears as the boss Magistrate Stratholme after being raised as an undead monster by the Lich King.
