Realm Connections – August 4th
Blizzard announced in a blue post that they will be performing realm connections for low population realms on August 4th. They had previously announced and scheduled the connections for the Drak’thul and Skywall connected realms to the Silvermoon and Mok’Nathal connected realms, and the Cairne and Perenolde connected realms to the Cenarius realm. However, they announced on the day of the connection that they would be postponing it. The August 4th connection date will include those two connections as well as the Grizzly Hills and Lothar connected realms joining Malfurion and Trollbane, and Ravenholdt and Twisting Nether joining Lightninghoof, Maelstrom, and The Venture Company.
As user Liana pointed out on the Lightninghoof, Maelstrom, and The Venture Co connected realm forum on the official WoW forums, this change will join together every server that was previously an RP-PvP server except for Emerald Dream, which is a full pop server. This will definitely be a boost to the RP communities in the new connected realms and make it significantly more lively in Orgrimmar and Stormwind.
I do have characters on Lothar, so this will be an interesting opportunity to track how the economies of realms are affected when they are connected. Keep an eye out for that article mid-August!
During a scheduled maintenance period (currently planned for 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. PDT on Tuesday, August 4), the following realm connections will be made:
- The Drak’thul and Skywall realms will join the Silvermoon and Mok’Nathal realms.
- The Cairne and Perenolde realms will join the Cenarius realm.
- The Grizzly Hills and Lothar realms will join the Malfurion and Trollbane realms.
- The Ravenholdt and Twisting Nether realms will join Lightninghoof, Maelstrom, and The Venture Company.
We are planning more realm connections for low-population realms, and we will post further notifications like this one in the coming weeks.
Thank you!
