The Cataclysm Portals at the Western Earthshrine in Orgrimmar

Happy Tuesday, Champions! This week brings with it Cataclysm Timewalking, another PvP Brawl, and the yearly Call of the Scarab event. Read on to find out what’s happening this week in WoW!

Cataclysm Timewalking

This week, you’ll be able to participate in Cataclysm Timewalking, which will allow you to play Cataclysm Dungeons and the Firelands raid for rewards that scale up to current content item levels. Click here for more info on Cataclysm Timewalking.

If you’re planning on doing some Timewalking dungeons, be sure to pick up the quest “A Shattered Path Through Time” from Caretaker Kah-Toll next to the Great Vault in Oribos (coordinates 64.95, 32.68). If you complete 5 Timewalking dungeons, you’ll be able to turn in the quest for a Cache of Nathrian Treasures, which will give you a random piece of Normal Castle Nathria loot for your spec.

Mythic Plus Affixes – Fortified, Spiteful, Volcanic, and Prideful

This week’s Mythic Plus affixes are Fortified, Spiteful, Volcanic, and the seasonal affix, Prideful.

Key LevelAffixAffix Effect
+2FortifiedNon-boss enemies have 20% more health and inflict up to 30% increased damage.
+4SpitefulFiends rise from the corpses of non-boss enemies and pursue random players.
+7VolcanicWhile in combat, enemies periodically cause gouts of flame to erupt beneath the feet of distant players.
+10PridefulPlayers overflow with pride as they defeat non-boss enemies, eventually forming a Manifestation of Pride. Defeating this Manifestation greatly empowers players.

Renown Cap Increase

This week’s Renown cap is 26. After reaching last week’s Renown cap of 24, players unfortunately don’t have more story quests to unlock for the forseeable future with Renown increases, however, there are still some fun things to earn this week, including another Soulbind upgrade for your first Souldbind, and a cloak from your Covenant’s Renown quartermaster.

PvP Brawl: Gravity Lapse

This week also brings with it the Gravity Lapse PvP Brawl. This Brawl takes place on the Eye of the Storm map. At set intervals, everyone but the person carrying the flag will be launched into the air and be able to steer towards where they want to land. It’s a unique game mode where careful use of the gravity lapses can change the tides of battle.

Call of the Scarab

This week also brings with it the annual Call of the Scarab holiday event, celebrating the day the Scarab Gong was first rung to open the gates of Ahn’Qiraj. This holiday will last 3 days, running from Thursday, January 21st to Saturday, Janurary 23rd. During the event, turning in supplies and slaying Twilight or Quiraji forces will help earn your faction points. The winning faction will get to fly their banner next to the Scarab Gong until the next call of the Scarab event in 2022.
